Youth Group Meeting Time

Youth Group Moving to Prime Time on Sept. 12

Based on discussion with youth and parents at our Back 2 School Blast, MCC's youth ministry is moving to Sunday evenings, 6-7:30 P.M., beginning September 12.  The move will provide extended time for key ingredients of MCC's youth ministry: fun, food and fellowship. Youth will have a chance to connect with each other over the week past and the week to come, and take full advantage of the games on the second floor. Families will be taking turns providing a light Sunday supper. Our study and discussion this fall will parallel the sermon series on Romans. If you weren't at B2SB, or have questions or suggestions, please contact any of MCC's Youth Ministry Team: Bruce Barnhill, Mike Cambron, Michael & Kaylie Eriksen, Heather June, Jennifer Kenny and Zeke Swift.

Mission Report
Here was my chance to answer the call I had felt God so firmly press on my heart- a chance to spread his love to those society does not love, to bring freedom to those in bondage, and to feed the hungry and clothe the needy.

Beausejour Mexico 2010
by Mariel Beausejour

In Mexico, there is a vast chasm between the Haves and the Have Nots. There is very little opportunity for the Mexican poor to 'change their stars,' and get out of poverty. A lack of education causes the cycle of poverty to carry on in Mexico. Ten percent of the population of Mexico is illiterate(Child Poverty). Poverty overlaps illiteracy, as ten percent of the population also lives on less than one dollar a day(Child Poverty).

Many of the children in the Casa Hogars(group homes for children) are placed in the home by parents who are unable to provide basic necessities. Often times, these parents were placed in a casa hogar as a child and were unable to escape the cycle of poverty (Nystrom).
