The Stewardship of Treasure
Denis Beausejour
We conclude our series today with a look at the stewardship of our treasure. We live as the most blessed people in world history, yet in all our prosperity; we also have record levels of debt...and arguably much less peace! Our government's finances are getting precarious, and recently confidence in the developed European economies has declined precipitously. Today we look at the generosity of a special group of churches from Macedonia who amazed the Apostle Paul with their generosity.

The Stewardship of Time
Denis Beausejour
Today we begin a three week series on stewardship. This term is rooted in the New Testament term which is often translated 'steward' or 'manager' - meaning household or estate manager. (see Matthew 24:45 and also Luke 12:42). In God's economy, he owns it all (Psalm 24:1) but delegates management to us, and he will one day ask us for an account (Hebrews 4:13)

The Faith of Abraham - Part II
Denis Beausejour
Our study of Genesis concludes today with Part II of our look at the faith of Abraham. As we see God's presence and plan unfold through Abraham's life, there are concrete lessons for us to apply to our own faith journeys. We need to avoid the temptation to somehow dilute the power of these lessons because they took place so long ago. If anything, I hope Genesis has reminded us that our own tendencies and sin patterns are not much different than the earliest humans - we are really 'one blood'!

The Faith of Abraham - Part I
Denis Beausejour
Our study in the book of Genesis has addressed many of the key issues that commonly lead people to doubt the truth and authority of God's Word. We have seen, in every chapter and verse, the amazing structure, depth and reliability of God's Word. Even in the genealogies, I hope you have seen the truth, wisdom, and insight they provide for living today, and a very personal application for generational issues and faith legacies in your own families! (See Deuteronomy 32:7-8)

The Call of Abraham
Denis Beausejour
Today we will move through Genesis 'Book V' (11:10-26 - the descendants of Shem) and into 'Book VI' (11:27-25:11 - the descendants of Terah). This section of Scripture describes one of the most important events in the unfolding of God's plan of redemption - the call of Abraham and his response.

Nations and Civilizations Under God
Denis Beausejour
In 'Book IV' of Genesis, we see the post-flood world, and the reality that mankind (including Noah) are still sinful. We are so prone to rebellion and rejection of God's rule in our lives! The dispersion of people, nations, and civilizations is recorded in a brief but powerful genealogy of Noah's sons and their progeny. We see God's total sovereignty over these nations and civilizations, as God works His plan to bring His promised 'seed', the Messiah we celebrate and anticipate again afresh this advent.

The Great Flood - Part II
Denis Beausejour
The aftermath of the flood reveals the interplay between our just and faithful covenant God, our flawed man of faith Noah, and the unfolding of human history through the next generation. We see three core biblical principles revealed in the story line.

The Great Flood - Part I
Denis Beausejour
The fact that so many cultures have cataclysmic flood narratives is one of the many pointers to the authenticity of the Genesis account, especially since the text of Genesis has vastly superior source and manuscript support. The account of the flood has become part of our human meta-narrative, and this story has inspired countless movies, poems, and works of art. Through this great drama, we see two players center stage - a faithful and just God, and his chosen servant Noah. The story unfolds as a covenant relationship, setting the stage for the relationship which is now available through Jesus Christ.

God's Mercy Pierces the Darkness
Denis Beausejour
The second 'book' of Genesis describes the generations of Adam and takes us very briskly through to the time of Noah - at least a millennium and a half in 32 verses! This narrative genealogy reveals much about God's sovereign activity in human history, the worsening effects of the Fall, and God's amazing grace and mercy in the face of darkness.

Generational Consequences
Denis Beausejour
INTRO: The battle with the forces of darkness and the preservation of God's promises unfolds in a drama which once again instructs us in how to live today. We see evidence of the steadfast and magnificent love of God, despite the self-centered sinfulness of His creatures. The picture is one of hope.

Mankind's Great Fall
Denis Beausejour
It is hard to imagine or experience the degree to which the Fall of Adam and Eve has affected the human race over thousands of years. The depth and extent of the rebellion and the consequences of that rebellion are all around us. In the first two chapters of Genesis, we made every effort to understand the beauty and the perfection of the created order, and today I hope we can see deeply just what we have lost.

Pillar of Life: The Marital Covenant
Denis Beausejour
The close of chapter two of Genesis brings us to the apex of the creation - God is with his people in the perfect garden setting, and His desired order has been carried out to perfection. The three main pillars of life on earth have been established, each coming to man with the authority of direct delegation from God.

Genesis: Discussion Series Part 2 of 3
Dr. Bob Keyes
'Are there aliens on other planets?' You missed the answer to another great question from this discussion series. Robert Keyes, M.D. Ph.D., presented an excellent view of how we are designed. We wish we could show you the slides but copyrights prevent us from sharing on the Internet. Contact Bob if you'd like to have them. Afterwards, Bob and Pastor Denis answered more of our questions. Enjoy listening to this audio of the evening. Thanks to Katie Smith who is a great M.C., Mark Lawry for manning A/V, Don & Peggy Keyes with Ben Koch for providing refreshments! And we can't leave out Mr. Tom Dewey who is the friendliest greeter around! Thanks everyone for making tonight so enjoyable.
